j, to melbourne.
Earlier this year my dearest j and i flew down to melbourne for a week to see the sights and live it up. It was a truly unforgettable time, as corny as that sounds, and i wish i was back there.
some memories that stood out (although perhaps you might not understand them unless you're a certain someone).
- Avalon tin-shed airport and awkward shuttle bus ride to 'Myer'
- Sleeping on the beach - mothers club
- Shared showers and tanlines
-Layering up and stealing a 7 year old's doona to sleep
- Trying to get a suitcase and a massive bag on the Gelong-Melbourne train - no leg room & boxing in a poor 12yr old
- "How good is food" - in unison
- Train to Flinders, train to Dandenong, bus to San-Remo - all in heels and 50thousand bags
- losing a wallet
- haunted houses
- sunburn
"Got enough cords there julia?"
Transit officer: "You realise you've just broken the law..."
*looks at multiple bags and suitcases*
"...where are you from?!"
Avalon airport - Julia: "we've landed in a farm!"
Pip: "Yep, this airport consists of a tin shed, with a drink machine, one carousel and a car-hire desk"
Julia: *thinks she's exaggerating* *sees the truth in her words*
"You want my wallet? You're gonna have to take my pants too".
"You're like school in July"
Julia: "Hi, can i please have a 30c cone?"
McDonalds guy: "uh, they're 50c here..."
Pip: "Fucking Melbourne"
I'm Big Kev, and I'm EXCITED!

One particular night when we were up late at my uncle's place, with none of us having anything better to do, we decided to catch this slightly random foreign film on sbs, called Atomik Circus.
Completely ridiculous and the absolute epitome of random, this movie involved a strange young singer wanting to break, spoken in french, some random German people and/or things, set (we are most positively sure) in the Australian bush, something to do with Portugal and most importantly, giant flying squid.
Yes, and interesting evening that was.
Also, one more thing.
We visited the legendary St Gerome's Laneway and saw some pretty snazzy street art.
its nothing like Sydney's tagging and graffiti, it truly is an artform in itself.
creative and rather inspiring...
